The parts have been bought by “Arsenal” are made under the constructive documentation of AK-47. On 08.09.1997 have been made firing ground tests in НИТИ /……/– Kazanlak in order to be defined the initial velocity, speed of the shooting, raining and dust.
ІІ. Statement part In the results of the made tests under the test procedures the committee was settled:
1.1. Defining the main specification of the product:
For Carabine “Bakalov” are used constructive schema “BUL-PAP”/……/ providing for the barrel box to fitted with the butt-stock and contributing to shorten the weapon length and increasing the length barrel at the some time and shortening the vertical deflection of the barrel in shooting. The change over from single to automatic fire is accomplish through the trigger power changing. 1.7. Determining the shooting speed specification:
The results in the both systems are in the optimal scope of the shooting speed of the automatic weapon (550-650 shots/min). At the shooting time there were not hold back. 1.8. Probation of the mechanism works through the shooting There were fired 30 bullets from the each systems At the shooting time there were not hold back.
1.9. Determined the initial speed of the bullets The products were checked with 7.62 mm bullets….. serie ПC-8-86-10
The initial speed of the Carabine “Bakalov” is 4.6% higher than the speed of the machine-gun “Kalashnikov”.

There were fired 120 bullets from the both systems At the shooting time there were not hold back. 1.12. Probation in high angle of upland and declension storm carabine “Bakalov” No 970101and AK-47 No 254345 There were fired 60 bullets from the both systems in any kind of position In angle of upland: storm carabine “Bakalov” – 2 times did not push the still parts in front position AK-47 No 254345 - 1 time did not push the still parts in front position In angle of declension storm carabine “Bakalov” – the trigger is back due to the hand help – 2 times AK-47 No 254345 – in single shooting did not push the bullet in the cartridge-clip – 1 time and in automatic shooting did not push the bullet in to the cartridge-clip – 6 times. In angle of upland with machine-gun “Kalashnikov” there were 10% hold back and in Carabine “Bakalov” – 3,3% . 1.13. Probation in high temperatures (+50°C) - storm carabine “Bakalov” No 970101and AK-47 No 254345 In this probation referring the test procedures of the expert assessment were shooting 60 bullets from each product. The results are as follow: AK-47 – there is no hold back Carabine “Bakalov” – in shooting from 3 to 5 bullets – 2 bullets stayed in to the cone of the cartridge-clip. In high temperature (+50) the Carabine “Bakalov” has 3,3% stay, and the machine-gun “Kalashnikov” has no any stay. 1.14. Probation in stage temperature (-5°C) - storm carabine “Bakalov” No 970101and AK-47 No 254345 There were fired 120 bullets from the both systems At the shooting time there were not hold back or stay.
1.15. Probation in low temperature (-50°C) - storm carabine “Bakalov” No 970101and AK-47 No 254345 There were fired 120 bullets from the both systems At the shooting time there were not hold back or stay.
There were fired 240 bullets from the both systems AK-47 – none hold back or stay Carabine “Bakalov” in first 60 fired bullets there was obtain uncomplete drive of the movable parts in the back position – 5 times. After the shorting the 4 devices from the reflexive spring there were no hold back or stay. In shooting with the machine gun “Kalashnikov” – there were no hold back or stay, and with the Carabine “Bakalov” there are 8,3%.
1.17. Probation in turning round long axis - storm carabine “Bakalov” No 970101and AK-47 No 254345 There were fired 360 bullets from the both systems Carabine “Bakalov” one step uncomplete drive of the movable parts in front position AK-47 No 254345 – none hold back or stay. In shooting with the machine gun “Kalashnikov” – there were no hold back or stay, and with the Carabine “Bakalov” there are 0,55%.

1.23. Measure of the shot power kick.
The value of the shooting kick of Carabine “Bakalov” is 40% lower than the value of the machine-gun “Kalashnikov” and this is the better for the rifleman.
ІІІ. Main conclusion 1.On this stage the storm carabine “Bakalov” (ЩКБ) as a storm system shows very good results. Through the some indexes (dimensions, initial speed of the bullet, length of the barrel, impulse of the shooting kick grouping and etc) carabine “Bakalov” exceeded AK-47, through the other indexes ( shooting in dust area, backfilling with sand, rain) the results of carabine “Bakalov” is lower than these of the AK-47. 2. The probable reason for the hold backing and staying in Carabine “Bakalov” is discrepancy of the hand made devices without special instrumental equipment and precise measuring devices. 3. After the committee members determined the specifications and estimating the results under the “Test procedures for assessment armament and technic” they received the following relative coefficient of the technical level : for AK-47 – 0.93, for Storm Carabine “Bakalov” – 0,84 (Appendix 1)
ІV. Recommendation and instructions 1. The storm carabine “Bakalov” system has a future and it is necessary to continue it development with the Bulgarian National Standard requirements B.203-82. 2. On this development has to be adjudge the stage “P”.Up to stage “O1” have to present all necessary constructor’s, exploitation and technological documentations.
